100 Followers Giveaway! :)

I reached 100 followers on my blog?!?!?!

OH MY GOSH, I'M SO HAPPY!

I love you guys! Thanks for checking out my posts, and for commenting! Y'all make this blogging thing so much fun! :)
(Side-note: I totally saw Despicable Me 2 with my little brother last week. It was SO CUTE!)

Okay, let's get real now that I've had my fun. I think I've been gif deprived since I haven't used them in reviews in awhile. :)

Like, no joke, I never thought I would actually get followers, let alone have 100 of them. (Oh, I've been going by my Bloglovin account, BTW. Since GFC was supposed to be gone and all, I've been using Bloglovin as the primary way to follow Part of that World). I've had this blog since November of 2012, but I blogged maybe 2 or 3 times a month until May. It was just this lonely little blog out in the blogosphere. Until I decided that I wanted to make it a full-time book blog. Then I asked my friend, Liz, for help with blog names, and she came up with some really cool ones. I thought on it, and decided on Part of that World. I love all things Disney, and I'm sure if you've read any of my previous posts, you'd have figured that out. :P I started joining groups on Goodreads and following other people's blogs. I participate in three weekly memes, where I've found a lot of awesome people who share the same love of books as me.

I just love having book talks with people. <3

So, I'd just like to say to you all:
I appreciate the follows and the comments a lot! <3

This will be my first giveaway! So, please excuse any errors! I hope this goes smoothly. :)

GIVEAWAY TIME! This is what y'all have been waiting for, isn't it?
*hardcore drumroll*
Well, I'm going to be giving away a paperback copy of That Night on Thistle Lane by Carla Neggers!

Which means.... *dun, dun, dun* It's a US only giveaway...
I'M SO SORRY, INTERNATIONAL FOLLOWERS! I just don't have the money to send a book overseas. In the future, I hope to do e-book giveaways, where I can include you guys. Please forgive me! I love you all, and I wish I didn't have to exclude you because of where you live.

Because I'm a college student, I don't have a lot of money. But what I do have are tons of books that I've either already read and didn't like, ones that wouldn't make me cry if I gave them away, or ones that are duplicates. This is one of the duplicates. And I thought, why not give it away to someone who loves books as much as I do? It's brand-new, never been read. No tears, no dog-ears.

Here's the book! (Well, the online version).
I just love this cover!

If you've never read any of her books, then you are missing out! Carla Neggers is a genius when it comes to mixing mystery and romance in her books. She's one of my favorite authors. I actually have not read this one yet! *gasps* I know, I know. I just haven't had the time to read ANY adult book. But I just know it's going to be good. I hope whoever wins this will enjoy the paperback! :)

  1. I guess it depends on the kind of story I'm reading. Action always sounds better in the first person, but I'm kind of in between for romance. It just depends on the genre for me.

    1. I agree. Although, I do tend to like 3rd person more.

  2. Congrats Holly! You definitely deserve thousands of followers! I really enjoy your reviews.

Hmmm...it depends, sometimes I understand the need for a 1st person POV but I do like reading books in 3rd person more for some reason. What I enjoy the most though is multiple POVs because I like getting different sides in a book.

And I agree with everything you just said about the narratives.

  3. I actually am not really a POV preference person. *shrugs*

  4. 1st person usually. However, I do really enjoy third person omniscient. If you cannot get fully into at least one person's head, I tend to be a little disappointed with the POV choice.

    1. I like being able to get inside the characters' heads, too. :)

  5. Yay 100 followers!!! Congrats. :)

For me, POV depends on how well it's written. For the most part I do like 1st person, but there are times where 3rd person is better for the story.

    1. Thank you! :)

Agreed--sometimes it just depends on the story and what the characters are like.

Comments always make me smile. :) Seriously. Even if you comment on the post weeks or months later, it makes my day! So don't hesitate to leave your thoughts even if it's been a long time since the post was published. I'll try to reply to you, especially if you ask a question, but sometimes life happens. But I do read and appreciate every single one of them because I know how hard it can be to find the time or energy to comment. So a heartfelt THANK YOU for brightening my day when you do. <3
