February Recap, March News, and Book Haul

I can't believe it's already March. It still feels like 2014 just got started, but boy, February sure went by fast. So, I used to post these recaps on the last day of the month before, but I've been terribly slacking. And that's why this one is coming 8 days later. ;)

February Recap:

A month in reviews!

1. My Favorite Mistake and My Sweetest Escape by Chelsea M. Cameron
2. Such Sweet Sorrow by Jenny Trout
3. In the Lyrics by Nacole Stayton
4. The Deep End of the Sea by Heather Lyons
5. Wind Chime Cafe by Sophie Moss
6. Tricks by Cambria Hebert
7. White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout

The worst: In the Lyrics and My Sweetest Escape. They both got less than 2 stars for me. I really did not like them. At all.

My favorites: The Deep End of the Sea and Wind Chime Cafe. I loved them so much! Beautiful stories, the both of them. :) I also really enjoyed White Hot Kiss, which is actually the only JLA book I've been able to finish! I can't wait for the sequel!

I haven't been doing much, except working and trying to get good grades in my classes. This semester is by far the hardest I've had. But, that could just be because I have Psych Stats right now, and I HATE IT SO EFFING MUCH. FUCK MATH.

Random fact: I've been watching Smash again. And this song right here is fucking amazing. Oh, and so is this one. Seriously, can't stop listening to them. :)

Oh, and missed my new releases book list? Here it is. A few of the ones I really want still have not come out yet. AHHHH. IT'S MAKING ME ANXIOUS. I love doing these every month. Not only to bring these books to attention, but also to help me keep track of all the ones I want. Haha, I have to, or otherwise I forget! :P

March News:

My plans? A dinner at Olive Garden with my family and hopefully a trip to Schuler's (since my favorite bookstore is closing in April!). Yeah, I don't plan on going crazy. Guess I'm not a stereotypical 21 year old, am I? :P

Anyway! In celebration of my birthday, I'm having a giveaway! It's going to start tomorrow, and I'll let it go until March 31st.

What am I giving away? Oh, I'll get to it in a minute.

Book Haul:
I finally came home after a month at school! And I just love it when I come home to a bunch of packages on my bed. I also made a trip to Goodwill and managed to snag a few awesome books as well. I never talk about my book hauls anymore, because I buy so many damn books (especially for my Kindle!) that it'd be a lot of posts. But I got so many amazing books this past month that I have to share! :)

Sorry about the poor quality. My phone's camera sucks. Or maybe I just suck.

On the left (books I bought at Goodwill):
  • The Titan's Curse: I haven't read this series yet. I KNOW, I KNOW. But I do have the first book in my possession; I just haven't read it yet. I looked for book 2 but couldn't find it. :(
  • Reflected in You: I have yet to read the first book, but I've heard amazing things about this series. I couldn't pass this up.
  • Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: Still collecting this series. :P And it was only $1.99!
  • Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer: YOU GUYS. IT'S A SPANISH EDITION. Do you have any idea how fucking excited I was to find a Spanish edition of this book at Goodwill? Freaking Goodwill of all places? Yeah, there was no way in hell I was letting that go. I'm not fluent by any means, but I've had Spanish for three years. Of course I wanted this book. :)

On the right (WON all but White Hot Kiss):
  • Before Jamaica Lane. Another series I have yet to read. I won a copy of this from the author. :)
  • White Hot Kiss. On this list, this is the only one I bought. It was only 6 freaking bucks on Amazon! And I loved it, so I wanted it in print.
  • Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress. So, guys. This was the greatest freaking surprise ever. I open my email and see that I won Mary's Cress giveaway over at Mary Had a Little Book Blog. I won the complete series signed AND personalized by Marissa Meyer! Mary, thank you ten times over for this amazing surprise!!! I love having them on my shelf, and I can't wait to read Cress! <3 <3 Hey, while you're reading this, go follow her. She has the coolest giveaways all the time, not to mention she has an awesome blog.
  • These Broken Stars. I won an ARC of this from Valerie @ Stuck in Books. I can't wait to read this one! I've heard amazing things about it. :)
So, those were the amazing books I got in February. Technically March, though, because I just got home yesterday. :P

Have you received any amazing books lately? Which ones?

Now for the giveaway...
Because I won Cinder, I have a paperback copy of it to give to someone! It's not signed, but it's in amazing condition. And why else do I need it now that I have my own copy? Stay tuned for details about the giveaway on my blog tomorrow!

I've had a fantastic March so far, and it's just getting started. I only have one blog tour this month, but I still have so many books on NetGalley to read. Plus, reviews that are due in April. I'll still be quite busy with reading, and with school, and with work. But I'm enjoying this semester much better now. :)

BUT. UGH. I'm giving up sweets and pop after spring break. I'm doing this with my roommate, and we're both trying to lose weight. It's hard. AND. GAH, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE UP MOUNTAIN DEW?! Seriously, I'm addicted. Like full-on, I might need to go to rehab for it, addicted. But alas, I want to lose weight. And to do that, I have to give it up. At least, for now. :) I was going to do it for Lent, but then I realized that giving up sweets and pop would be hard over break, especially considering it's my birthday. So, I'm giving them up after break and all the way until this semester ends in May. Whoa, I don't know if I can do this. But I'm going to try my freaking hardest. Wish me luck, guys!

GUYS. GUYS. I don't know if you like country music, but I DO. And guess who is coming to CMU this month? Lee freaking Brice! Already nabbed my tickets. I can't wait for it!!! <3

I hope y'all have had an awesome February, and here's to an even better March! :)

  1. HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY! You should get one drink at Olive Garden, wait do they have alcoholic drinks.....GET WINE WITH YOUR PASTA. Either way enjoy the amazing breadsticks!

That's so awesome that you won so many books! I need to enter more giveaways. I have won nothing because I'm a poop :P

I hope you have an amazing March!

    1. I actually want to get some wine with my dinner! I don't know if my mom would let me, even though I'll be 21... Haha, but thank you!

I don't enter giveaways often anymore, so it's always the best surprise. :)

I hope you have a fantastic March! :)

Comments always make me smile. :) Seriously. Even if you comment on the post weeks or months later, it makes my day! So don't hesitate to leave your thoughts even if it's been a long time since the post was published. I'll try to reply to you, especially if you ask a question, but sometimes life happens. But I do read and appreciate every single one of them because I know how hard it can be to find the time or energy to comment. So a heartfelt THANK YOU for brightening my day when you do. <3
