Shattering Stigmas Year 3 Kickoff!

*graphic made by the lovely Shannon*

Hey y'all, I'm SO excited to be announcing the third annual mental health blog event! It was started by Shannon, who was joined by Inge and another blogger the first year. And last year, they expanded, and I was asked if I wanted to help co-host. Of course I said yes! I don't think I talk about mental illness awareness as much as I should, given that I'm very close to the subject and I've got a BS in psychology. So, I've wanted to get more proactive about it. I was so inspired by everyone the last two years; their courage and heart and passion toward shattering the negative stigmas attached to mental illness. It helped me a lot, and I hope it helps others as well!!

I'm happy to also announce that myself, Shannon, and Inge have now been joined by Taylor from Stay on the Page, Vlora from Reviews and Cake, and Taneika from Flipping Through Pages. It's gotten even bigger for its third year, and we've got SO MUCH in store for you guys. During these two weeks, we'll all be publishing posts related to mental health and/or mental health in books, both written by ourselves and other bloggers, as well some authors. On my blog in particular you will see MANY personal posts (including one by yours truly), and it's such a wide variety. Of what I've read, I think people will be able to relate to a lot of them, it's so great!

I don't have a set schedule as I don't have all the guest posts yet. And I'm going to play it by ear a little, especially in the second week (will probably skip a day or two throughout just for a break). All I know is that this week I've got posts going from Tuesday to Saturday. One on why we do this event, and several personal stories that I hope you'll come back to read and support! We've also got a giveaway going on until November 3rd! SIX winners will receive a mental health book of their choice! INT if The Book Depository ships to you. (For me, you can pick literally any mental health book. Here's a handy list from last year, but it's definitely not exhaustive!)

Aaand that's all for now. I hope you enjoy the event. <3

Comments always make me smile. :) Seriously. Even if you comment on the post weeks or months later, it makes my day! So don't hesitate to leave your thoughts even if it's been a long time since the post was published. I'll try to reply to you, especially if you ask a question, but sometimes life happens. But I do read and appreciate every single one of them because I know how hard it can be to find the time or energy to comment. So a heartfelt THANK YOU for brightening my day when you do. <3
