March Madness: Year 3 Kickoff!

Y'all, I'm so excited to be bringing March Madness back this year! In case you don't know what it is, it's a month-long (kind of) celebration of books releasing in March for my birthday. It's whole play on the "book birthday" saying. I started it back in 2015, where I had such massive (for me) participation that I knew I wanted to keep it up. I did end up skipping last year for a few reasons. Namely, my mental health and the election, but when I gathered books and authors, there didn't seem to be a big enough amount to contact. So, I let it go, and wasn't sure if I'd do it in 2018.

But when I started looking at my list, I got excited! It's always hard for me emailing authors. I waffled back and forth on a lot of them because I couldn't decide whether I should email their publicists first or not. Even after all this time, I still get so anxious about this shit. Even though no one's ever been mean if I should've done it the ~professional~ way instead. Even though, when I get rejected, they're always the kindest, most sincere replies. (I got a few of those this time, but it's okay! It happens). It's hard to START, but once I'm into it, all I feel is excitement.

There's a mix of posts this year, and a mix of books that are being spotlighted (MG, YA, even adult). Interviews, top ten lists, a this or that, and a few guest posts on some fun topics! And while there's only eleven authors participating, it's still amazing to me given how meh I've felt toward blogging recently, and how small my blog is even after all these years. I'm PROUD and I can't wait to share the posts! So anyway, here's the schedule for the month, plus a little fun guessing game that my friend Shannon loves so much, I can't NOT do it each year. Haha.

March 5th: this contemporary follows the timelines of a mother and daughter during their seventeenth year
March 7th: an interview with Brigid Kemmerer for the More Than We Can Tell blog tour. (Not really part of the event, but I'm counting it anyway!)
March 9th: a birthday post from meee
March 10th: this book is about a boy who disappeared from his town and comes home five years later a different person
March 12th: this futuristic world features a pirate and a privileged boy who make a deal that changes their lives
March 14th: this YA is about a girl from a uptopian community crashing into a local boy's life and the danger it brings
March 16th: this contemporary is about a girl who has to evacuate her home because of a wildfire in California
March 19th: this mystery is about a town along a river with a tragic story and its secrets coming to light
March 23rd: this (adult) romance is about a second chance between the town bad boy and the resident good girl
March 26th: this middle grade is about a girl whose secret notebook is stolen after a tornado destroys her home
March 28th: this book is about a con artist assuming the identity of a missing girl from a family with terrible secrets
March 30th: this companion/prequel to a 2016 novel features demigods with blood magic and a girl who wants revenge

I'm also hosting a giveaway again! One winner will get their choice of a book featured in the event (yes, even More Than We Can Tell). This is open internationally, so long as The Book Depository ships to your country! :D

Comments always make me smile. :) Seriously. Even if you comment on the post weeks or months later, it makes my day! So don't hesitate to leave your thoughts even if it's been a long time since the post was published. I'll try to reply to you, especially if you ask a question, but sometimes life happens. But I do read and appreciate every single one of them because I know how hard it can be to find the time or energy to comment. So a heartfelt THANK YOU for brightening my day when you do. <3
